Joan McCall - Co-Founder with David Sheldon
When she was just out of college, Joan starred on Broadway in "A Race of Hairy Men" written by Evan Hunter. She followed it with the starring role in Neil Simon's "Barefoot in the Park" on Broadway, directed by Mike Nichols, and then the starring role in Neil Simon's "The Star-Spangled Girl" She also starred in national tours of these productions. Noticing the scarcity of good roles for women on Broadway and in movies, she she switched to writing screenplays and TV programs. Starting her writing career as staff writer for "Days of Our Lives," She wrote scripts for NBC's "Santa Barbara" and became a writer for "Capitol." She wrote a six-month story projection for "Search for Tomorrow," and writer for NBC's "Another World" for whom she wrote two scripts a week.
She wrote with David Sheldon and Ed De Leo, "When I Knew Al" (the Untold Story of Al Pacino) published by Harbor House.
